Therapeutic Massage Therapy

A professional therapeutic massage is a non-invasive, skilled, hands-on manipulation of muscle, skin, and tissue. From short-term treatment plans to the treatment of chronic conditions, massage therapy offers many benefits for an improved quality of life. Licenced Massage Therapists (LMT) are trained in techniques to address a number of health concerns and to maintain overall wellness and improve the daily function of the human body.

What to expect:

A massage at HealthQuest begins with a conversation between the patient and therapist. In a 30 or 60 minute session, a patient will be treated on a heated table or perhaps in a massage chair. A treatment plan may be targeted for specific injuries or conditions, directed to upper or lower body sessions, or as a full body massage. Hands, forearms, and elbows are used to manipulate the tissue while applying a professional massage oil in direct contact with the skin. A variety of massage techniques are used to warm tissues; kneading, stretching and breathing strategies are utilized throughout the session. Patients may expect soft lighting, calm music, and a quiet setting.

It is VERY important that patients drink plenty of water after a massage session. Some tenderness of tissue in areas treated may be present.
